By default, SQL Source Control automatically refreshes the list of changes in the commit and get latest tabs when the focus on the tab is lost. You can choose to disable this behavior

How to disable automatic refresh in the commit and get latest tabs

  • Open %localappdata% in your File Explorer
  • Navigate to the folder Red Gate\SQL Source Control 7
  • Open the file RedGate_SQLSourceControl_CommonUI_UIOptions.xml
  • Add a new tag inside the root UIOptions
    <DisableAutoRefresh>True</DisableAutoRefresh>
  • Save the file
  • Restart SSMS

Known Limitations

  • The list of changes always refreshes automatically when switching to a different database in the Object Explorer
  • The list of changes always get refreshed after a commit or get latest
