What’s new in SQL Data Compare 14.0 

Linux command line support (beta) 

The SQL Data Compare 14.0 command line is now available for Linux, allowing users to access core SQL Data Compare functions whether they choose to work on Linux or Windows. This removes complexity and increases user choice, and is part of Redgate’s ongoing commitment to widen access to its tools and enable developers to work effectively across multiple environments. Linux support is currently in beta.

The SQL Data Compare 14.0 command line for Linux is available as a Docker container through Docker Hub. See using the command line on Linux for more information.

Scripts folder performance improvements 

Parsing of data in scripts folders is dramatically improved in SQL Data Compare 14.0. This will also improve static data performance in SQL Compare 14.0. 

SQL Server 2019 support 

SQL Data Compare 14.0 comes with full support for the forthcoming SQL Server 2019 release, meaning users will be able to access its new features. 

.NET Framework

SQL Data Compare now requires .NET Framework 4.7.2.

Removed features in SQL Data Compare 14

SQL Server 2005 support.
