ANTS Performance Profiler 9.1 release notes

April 10th, 2015

This is a minor release of ANTS Performance Profiler which includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:

Features

  • Visual Studio add-in supports Visual Studio 2015 CTP 6
  • Tested in Windows 10

Fixes

  • PP-3427: ANTS Performance Profiler failed to start if IIS isn't installed at the location specified in the registry
  • PP-1550: ANTS Performance Profiler crashed when enumerating running processes if an invalid parameter error is returned
  • PP-3682: Applications using the Castle Proxy Generator crashed when profiled with line-level timings
  • PP-1360: ANTS Performance Profiler crashed if a service failed to start or stop
  • PP-3197: ANTS Performance Profiler trigger processes sometimes didn't exit. They are now cleaned up when the next profiling session is started.
  • PP-3569: Timeout for starting the application to be profiled increased to 2 minutes from 20 seconds
  • PP-3680: ANTS Performance Profiler failed to fetch execution plans under some rare circumstances
  • PP-3668: Fetching execution plans doesn't work when the application being profiled uses Failover Partner in the connection string

Known issues

  • PP-3683: When launching ANTS Performance Profiler from Visual Studio 2012 (but not Visual Studio 2013 or 2015 CTP 6), the AppHost process launched by Performance Profiler may not exit when the profiler is closed
  • PP-3700: Profiling Windows Store Apps fails when launching the store app on Windows 10 Technical Preview
  • ANTS Performance Profiler doesn't currently support profiling applications using ASP.NET 5's DNX deployment framework
