Warnings
Published 01 March 2022
On the Summary page of the Deployment Wizard, you can click Warnings to view information about unexpected behavior that may occur when you deploy the databases, or reasons the script may fail. The warnings are graded according to severity.
Some of the warnings that Data Compare for Oracle may display are explained below.
Warning | Severity | Description |
---|---|---|
Column Mapping | High | Data Compare for Oracle will display this warning when the scale, precision or length of the data type in the target column is less than that of the source. Deployment may result in data loss from truncation or rounding. |
Invalid Data | High | This warning is displayed when the comparison source contains invalid data that cannot be deployed. |
Data Types Not Identical | Medium | This warning is displayed when the data types of the source and target columns differ. You can deploy the column, but in some cases the deployment script may fail. If the script fails, any changes are rolled back; data is preserved. |
Deprecated Oracle Version | Low | Data Compare for Oracle will display this warning if either the source or target database is an Oracle 9i or 10g version. Support for Oracle 9i and 10g has been removed in Data Compare for Oracle 6. |
