Redgate Flyway

Sharing with your organization

ENTERPRISE

Flyway Insights is in public preview for Flyway Enterprise users. Features may change before general availability. Got an idea or found a problem? Tell us what you think

Flyway Insights is built to show information across your entire data estate.  When you and your colleagues are in the same Redgate organization, everyone sees all the shared deployments for the organization on the Deployments page, and in the Deployment metrics and Business value (ROI) figures, so you get one view of your entire data estate.

Before you start: join a Redgate organization

Sharing works through your Redgate organization, which your Redgate account administrator manages. If you're not in one yet, see Creating a Redgate organization.

For CI/CD pipelines, make sure the Redgate ID calling the Flyway commands with the Personal Access Token is also a member of your Redgate organization.

Who shares what

If you started using Flyway Insights recently, your deployments are shared with your organization automatically. The Deployments page tells you so:

🏢 Your organization's deployments.

If you're not in an organization yet, you'll see this instead. Nothing is shared until you join one:

🔒 You're not in an organization yet so you can only see your own pipelines. Find out how to create or join one

If you used Flyway Pipelines (our Preview service before Flyway Insights), your deployments stay private until you choose to share them. The Deployments page asks you:

Share your deployments with your organization Everyone in your organization will be able to see deployments recorded under your Redgate ID from now on. Earlier deployments aren't included. If colleagues have already shared theirs, you can see them below now.

Sharing your deployments

  1. On the Deployments page, select Share deployments.
  2. Read the confirmation, then tick I consent to sharing my deployments with my organization.
  3. Select Share my deployments.

A few things to know:

  • Sharing can't be undone.
  • Only new deployments are shared. Deployments recorded before you opted in stay visible to you only.
  • You can opt in before you're in an organization. Nothing is shared until you join or create one. Deployments you publish before you join aren't shared afterwards.
  • You can see colleagues' shared deployments without sharing your own.

If you dismiss the banner, a reminder stays above the page heading ("Only you can see these deployments") with a Share with your organization link.
