SQL HyperBac works with the following editions of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (SP 3 or later), 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012:

• Developer Edition (32-bit)
• Standard Edition (32-bit)
• Enterprise Edition (32-bit)
• Enterprise Edition x64 (64-bit)

Microsoft Windows

SQL HyperBac works on the following Microsoft Windows operating systems:

• Windows XP
• Windows Vista (32 Bit)
• Windows Vista (64 Bit)
• Windows 7
• Windows Server 2003
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2008 R2

Other requirements

Microsoft .NET 2.0 must be installed.

Administrator privileges are required to install SQL HyperBac.

Technical notes

SQL HyperBac version 5.0 is backwards-compatible with backup files created by HyperBac for SQL Server (versions 3.x and 4.x). HyperBac for SQL Server (versions 4.3 and earlier) cannot be used to process backup files created by SQL HyperBac version 5.0.

You can configure SQL HyperBac to create backup files in a ZIP-compatible format (rather than using SQL HyperBac's proprietary compression). Any third-party application you use to decompress these ZIP-compatible files must support ZIP64.
