SQL Lock is an add-in for Management Studio that temporarily locks database objects so other people can't edit them. This means database developers can't accidentally overwrite each other's work.

When you lock an object, you can work on it as usual. When you try to edit an object that's locked by someone else, the server returns an error including the reason it's locked:
