SQL Backup Pro 10.0 release notes

PLEASE NOTE: After Installing or upgrading to the V10 GUI, any registered servers using V9.* or earlier server components version will be advised of a mandatory upgrade to V10 server components. This is due to the changes in the Cloud Storage feature (formerly known as Hosted Storage).

  • Allows backups to be sent to cloud storage - Azure
  • Allows backups to be sent to cloud storage - generic S3-compatible providers

Fixes

  • SB-5890 Server components installer will not now reboot the target machine.

  • SB-5892 DISKRETRYCOUNT no longer counts the initial attempt to create a new folder (formerly DISKRETRYCOUNT = 0 would not create a backup at all)
  • SB-5893 Reverted to Windows file copy for performance reasons 
  • SB-5894 User interface can now handle ERASEFILES_PRIMARY/SECONDARY options
  • SB-5895 Improve speed by preallocating backup file (needs registry key to use)
  • SB-5896 Restores now support the SQL Server RESTART option
  • SB-5898 Improve memory usage when uploading large files to AWS
  • SB-5904 Create file part size depending on the size of the file when uploading files to AWS
