Features

Azure v12 and SQL Server 2016 connectivity

11.2.2 - Jun 3rd, 2015

FREQUENT UPDATES RELEASE

Features

64-bit support

SQL Data Compare will now run as a 64-bit process on a 64-bit OS. This applies to both the main application GUI and the SQLDataCompare.exe command-line.

SQL Data Compare will be installed to C:\Program Files (x86) unless you customize the install location, but it will still run as a 64-bit process where possible.

Fixes

  • SDC-1772: Pressing Ctrl+A to select all objects and then clicking one of the checkboxes no longer causes an error when the comparison includes tables or views that cannot be compared.
  • SDC-1887: Data Compare now correctly restores data compression settings when rebuilding an index during deployment

11.2.1 - May 27th, 2015

Bug fixes

  • SDC-1836: Data Compare no longer truncates large (>8000 byte) data values when comparing tables using a non-unique comparison key
  • SDC-1912: The command line now correctly recognises comparison options specified using the /options argument. This fixes a regression introduced in version 11.2.0.

11.2.0 - May 7th, 2015

Note: Version 11.2 rolls up all of the changes from frequent update versions 11.1.6 to 11.2.0 - if you want to receive these kinds of updates more quickly in future, you should turn on Frequent Updates.

Features

From previous 11.1.x frequent updates

  • Project options are now listed in alphabetical order.

Bug fixes

New for 11.2

  • SC-7219, SC-7578 - the keywords DIFFERENTIAL, READ UNCOMMITTED, READ COMMITTED, REPEATABLE READ, and SNAPSHOT are now correctly highlighted as keywords in the deployment script
  • SC-7811 - Using the 'Create database...' option when configuring the target database no longer causes an error when the source database name is empty

From previous 11.1.x frequent updates

  • SC-7837: SQL Data Compare no longer hangs when trying to read a scripts folder containing invalid T-SQL files. This fix also means that when logging is turned on, Data Compare no longer produces excessively large log files in this situation.
  • SDC-1642: SQL Data Compare will trim file names generated for deployment scripts if they would exceed the maximum Windows path length.
  • SC-7750: Using the <Create Database...> command no longer causes an error when the other side of the comparison is a backup or source control repository.

  • SDC-1525: Arguments to the Exclude command line switch are no longer case sensitive.
  • SC-7647: Temporary files are now generated less often and cleaned up more reliably
  • SDC-981: Temporary files will now be cleaned up when creating a backup in the deployment wizard

Known issues

SDC-1912: Version 11.2.0 of the SQL Data Compare command line does not correctly recognise options specified using the /options argument. It ignores the options, and emits the following message:

Warning: unrecognised SQL Data Compare option

This bug is fixed in version 11.2.1.
