Troubleshooting anonymize treatments
Published 27 November 2025
Treatment fails during initialization
- Check the error logs in the UI
- Verify database connection has required permissions (Anonymization connection requirements)
- Delete the failed treatment and create a new one
Some columns aren't being classified
- Test Data Manager only classifies common PII types by default
- Manually assign datasets to unclassified columns in the Anonymization tab
- Consider using custom classification rules if you have many similar columns
Primary key errors when running treatment
- Primary keys cannot be masked (see Columns that cannot be masked)
- Remove primary key columns from the treatment
- See Anonymization troubleshooting for more details
Treatment runs but data doesn't look right
- Check the dataset assignments in the Anonymization tab
- Verify determinism settings if you need consistent masking
- Review the Summary tab to ensure expected columns are being masked
