Deployment Manager 2

Windows authentication mode behavior

When you set Deployment Manager to use Windows authentication:

  • All existing users are deleted, including administrators.
  • Project team permissions are deleted.
  • The previous configuration state of users and project team permissions is saved. It is restored if you switch back to Deployment Manager authentication.
  • Any user on the Active Directory domain can log in to the web interface. An account for them is created when they first log in.
  • Local administrators on the Deployment Manager server are promoted to Deployment Manager administrators when they first log in. They can then be demoted or disabled.
  • Usernames, passwords and emails can't be changed inside Deployment Manager.

Starter Edition warning

In Deployment Manager Starter Edition, any user can deploy to any environment.

With Windows authentication enabled in Starter Edition, any user on the domain can log in and deploy to any environment. You should consider this before putting Deployment Manager Standard Edition in Windows authentication mode.
