Redgate Monitor 14

Disabling use of Monitor AI

This page relates to the set up of the Alert Analysis and Query Analysis features. For details on how to set up Redgate Assistant please see Redgate Assistant.

Redgate Monitor AI is disabled by default, and can only be configured by an Administrator user. There are multiple options for disabling use of AI services:

Remove access via Redgate Monitor's UI

If Monitor AI has been set up, it can be disabled again by an Administrator user.

Navigate to Configuration > AI settings, then to the Other AI capabilities tab, delete the email address and Personal Access Token, and save those settings. AI-powered functionality will no longer be available.

Prevent configuration at the infrastructure level

You can set an environment variable which prevents Redgate Monitor from allowing any user to configure AI services.

Connect to the machine running the Redgate Monitor Webserver service. Create an environment variable called SQLMONITOR_HideAIAssistantFeatures and set its value to true.

AI-powered functionality will not be available, and the AI Settings page will prevent setup from happening.

Managing AI features for your organization

If you're an organization admin, you can turn Monitor AI off for everyone in your organization at once — see Managing AI features for your organization. This replaces the old process of contacting Support to block your domain.
