Requirements and supported systems


To use SQL Source Control, you need:

  • SQL Server Management Studio 2012, 2014, 2016, 17, 18
  • Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10
  • .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later
  • MDAC 2.8+

Supported SQL Server versions

  • SQL Server 2008 (RTM, SP1, SP2, R2, R2 SP1, and R2 SP2)
  • SQL Server 2012 (RTM)
  • SQL Server 2014 (RTM)
  • SQL Server 2016 (RTM, SP1)
  • SQL Server 2017 (RTM)
  • SQL Server 2019 (RTM)
SQL Source Control doesn't support SQL Server 2000 or 2005, or SSMS Express.
