Monitor's REST API is pull-based: your applications request the data they need, when they need it, and Monitor responds. This works well with tools that poll for data or query it on demand.

If you need Monitor to notify an external system as events happen, use webhooks instead. Monitor pushes alert data out to a URL you configure.
