Configuring log shipping

SQL Backup Pro provides a wizard to guide you through the process of setting up log shipping, to ship transaction log backups from a primary server to a secondary server and restore them.

To start the Log Shipping wizard, click  Log Shipping. The Log Shipping wizard comprises the following steps:

Step 1:Select the SQL Server instance database you want to back up, and the SQL Server instance database on which you want to restore the transaction log backups.
Step 2:Specify the locations and file names for the transaction log backups, configure settings for managing existing backup files, and specify backup processing settings such as compression.
Step 3:Specify the network share to which the transaction log backups will be copied, and network resilience settings.
Step 4:Configure the settings for restoring the transaction log backups.
Step 5:Specify the schedule for backing up the transaction logs, and for restoring the backups.
Step 6:Review your log shipping settings.

If you encounter problems, check that you have met all the prerequisites for log shipping.

Next: specify databases
