Authenticating with Basic Authentication

Basic Authentication is the default authentication mode in SQL Monitor where users share a password to log in as an admin, standard, reports, or read-only user.

For bigger estates, we recommend configuring SQL Monitor to authenticate with OpenID Connect, which can also restrict which individual servers and groups standard and read-only users have access to.
