Monitored PostgreSQL instances

You can monitor the following PostgreSQL servers with Redgate Monitor:

Linux

PostgreSQL

  • Ubuntu 20.04 or newer
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 or newer
  • Rocky Linux 8.0 or newer
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 or newer
  • v10
  • v11
  • v12
  • v13
  • v14
  • v15
  • v16
  • v17

Supported Cloud Platforms

Redgate Monitor supports:

Self-managed (Infrastructure as a Service)

PostgreSQL running on Linux virtual machines of the above versions, on:

  • Microsoft Azure virtual machines
  • Amazon EC2 virtual machines
  • Google Compute Engine virtual machines

Managed (Database as a Service)

You may need to set up certain things before you can do this. For details, see: Adding servers on a different network from your Base Monitor.

  • Amazon RDS PostgreSQL
  • Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL (including either Provisioned or Serverless V2 - see note)
  • Azure Flexible Server for PostgreSQL

Aurora Serverless V2 auto-pause

Note that for an Amazon Aurora instance on Serverless V2 which has auto-pause configured, the act of monitoring that instance will have the effort of preventing the instance from auto-pausing, since Redgate Monitor's queries, however lightweight, will still be registered as activity.

High availability

Redgate Monitor version 13.0.15 and later supports monitoring PostgreSQL instances in high-availability clusters using physical streaming replication.

Earlier versions do not support monitoring clusters.

Monitoring logical replication is not supported.
