Team Foundation Server version compatibility
Published 09 May 2016
If you want to link to TFVC, you need to have some other software installed. The software you need depends on your version of TFS.
These versions of TFS work with these sets of software:
Azure DevOps Services | Azure DevOps Server 2020 | Azure DevOps Server 2019 | TFS 2018 | TFS 2017 | TFS 2015 | TFS 2013 | TFS 2012 | TFS 2010 | TFS 2008 | |

Versions marked with an asterisk (*) might be compatible if you install SP1 and the GDR from MSDN. However, we haven't tested this with SQL Source Control, and we can't guarantee it will work.
For more information about TFS client/server compatibility, see Compatibility between Team Foundation Clients and Team Foundation Server on MSDN. (SQL Source Control 4.1.13 and later can use the TFS Extended Client if Team Explorer isn't installed.)
