Requirements and supported systems

Requirement
To use SQL Source Control, you need:
- SQL Server Management Studio 17, 18, 19, 20
- Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11
- .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later
- MDAC 2.8+
Supported source control systems
SQL Source Control is designed to work with:
- Git
Requires git command line to be installed and on the path (See Git for more details) - Subversion
Version 1.5 and later - Team Foundation Server (including Azure DevOps)
2008 and later (you may also need a compatible version of Team Explorer. For details, see Team Foundation Server version compatibility)
Other source control systems
Other source control systems (including Mercurial) are supported, but they're not so well integrated into the user interface. To use them, you can:

Supported authentication methods
- Windows Integrated Authentication
- SQL Password Authentication
- Active Directory Password Authentication
- Active Directory Integrated Authentication

Permissions
The permissions you need to use SQL Source Control depend on the objects in your database schema. For more information, see Permissions.
Database and database version support
SQL Source Control version support aligns to Flyway Teams's support for a standalone license, and Flyway Enterprise's support if licensed as part of SQL Toolbelt, Toolbelt Essentials or Flyway Enterprise.
